A video of a 16 year old Russian soccer player getting struck by lighting is going viral. Ivan Zaborovsky was wearing a metal chain around his neck, when lightning struck him at the same moment he kicked the soccer ball. He is currently in critical condition, but still alive.
Getting struck by lighting is an extremely rare phenomenon, but it is something you always have to weary of when playing outdoors during a thunderstorm. The 16 year old Russian soccer player getting struck by lightening is epitome of a freak accident. 99.999% of the time wearing a metal chain during a thunderstorm is harmless. This was just that very rare time when it turned out to be dangerous.
