Stephen Curry, the eight-time all-star of the Golden State Warriors, recently visited the White House to celebrate the team’s 2022 NBA championship win. Curry’s outfit for the occasion has been the source of much ridicule and debate, with many deeming it a “chopper suit” for its cheap look.
Did Stephen Curry Wear an Off-The-Rack Suit to the White House?
While the overall look wasn’t too bad, there were a few issues that had people calling it a “choppa suit”. For one, the suit was oversized and ill-fitting in the upper body area. Additionally, some people felt suit’s button stance was too high by 3 inches, making the jacket appear to squeeze his mid-section. Some people feel it looks like an off-the-rack suit, mean it wasn’t fitted to his body. Stephen Curry’s fashion faux pas has been met with both criticism, and humor from fans and media alike.
The term “Chopper Suit” or “Choppa Suit” refers to a suit that doesn’t fit well, and is usually too big. The phrase became viral after rapper Chopper City released footage dissing E Ness while wearing a cheap looking suit. Despite the fact that happened more than a decade ago, the suit was so bad that still till this day it’s viral. He’s like the king of “off-the-rack” suits.
At the end of the day when you’re the greatest three point shooter of all time you can get away with wearing any kind of suit to the White House.
