Ted Cruz is someone you usually don’t see agreeing with black people, but when it comes to the COVID vaccine, things are a bit different. With the COVID-19 vaccine mandates being the centerpiece of storylines around the NBA, the “Your Body Your Choice” mantra is being talked about more than ever. Several NBA players have come out as anti-vaxxers who are opposed to getting the COVID-19 vaccine, despite the possible consequences of losing money and missing many games due to city vaccine mandates. As unlikely as it may sound the Republican Ted Cruz supports all of them, and Lebron James.
Why Does Ted Cruz Agree with Lebron James About COVID-19 Vaccine?
In a viral post on twitter Ted Cruz says he stands with Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Andrew Wiggins, Bradley Beal, and Jonathan Isaac on their stance against the vaccine or vaccine mandates. That doesn’t necessarily mean he agrees with their anti-vaxxer stances, but possibly the sentiment that people should respect their decisions not to take the vaccine, since it’s their bodies. All four players have slightly different reasons for refusing to take the vaccine, which brings up what the recently vaccinated Lebron James said.
Is LeBron James against COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates?
Ted Cruz agrees with Lebron James’ stance against vaccine mandates. It appears Lebron James believes that people should be able to choose whether or not they want the vaccine, without other people getting involved in their decision. He seems to believe in the “your body your choice” sentiment that many people have. Here is Lebron James‘ full statement that Ted Cruz agreed with,
“We’re talking about people’s bodies and wellbeing. I don’t think I personally should get involved in what other people should do for their bodies and livelihoods.”
Some people around social media feel Lebron James thinks Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates are unethical, but maybe people are misunderstanding him.

Stan Van Gundy Reacts to Ted Cruz Standing with Black People
One of the sports celebrities most surprised by Ted Cruz agreeing with black NBA players, was the coaching legend Stan Van Gundy. He was shocked to see Ted Cruz praising Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Bradley Beal, Jonathan Isaac, and Andrew Wiggins. In a viral tweet Stan Van Gundy said,
“Hell just froze over. Ted Cruz standing with black people.”

In addition to the players above, Ted Cruz would probably agree Andre Iguodala, who shares a similar sentiment as Lebron James about vaccine mandates, and how people who don’t take the vaccine are treated. The vaccinated Andre Iguodala also feels people should respect a person’s decision for not getting the COVID-19 vaccine, because it’s their bodies.
