When people think of living breathing organisms plants are often an afterthought. For example Vegans have no problem with plants dying, because they aren’t thought of in the same breath as animals in terms of being living creatures. However, a viral photo showing the hidden vascular system of Tree after a lightening strike could change the way people view plants forever.
In most cases people wouldn’t expect to see “veins” inside the wood of trees. However, just like humans Trees have a complex network of vein like structures that really make it look more like an animal than a plant. The lightning strike exposed the Tree’s human vascular system to the world.
Spaghetti anyone?

When you compare the lightning stricken tree’s vascular system with that of a human it really puts in perspective how similar they are.

Next time you see a tree getting chopped down it will be hard not wonder if it is actually feeling pain. All those veins inside it are being cut through, which seems inhumane when you really think about it.
Does this means vegans are just as bad as people who eat meat?
