According to police reports there were 8 people dead at Astroworld Festival, 23 people seriously injured, and over 300 treated for minor injuries. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo confirmed the news that 8 people died at Astroworld Festival. There were no reports of any shootings, which left people wondering what happened. Based on a statement of Houston Police Chief Sam Pena, the culprit may have been too many people in one place at the same time.

According to reports around 9 pm the Astroworld Festival crowd of over 50,000 people began to compress towards the front of the stage to see Drake and Travis Scott. This caused cause mass panic, which allegedly led to people getting trampled and suffocated. Due to the chaos 11 people went into cardiac arrest in the Astroworld crowd, and 8 of them died. In essence Cardiac Arrest or Heart Attack was the cause of death behind the fatalities during Travis Scott Astroworld Festival disaster. However, details on what exactly caused cardiac arrest have not been revealed, but it was likely due to suffocation.
