According to reports the autopsy revealed the police shot Andrew Brown Jr in the head, and 4 more times. The death certificate says Andrew Brown Jr was dead shortly after the headshot. The family of Andrew Brown Jr adamantly claims he was running only because he feared for his life. In essence he seemed to feel the police officers were trying to kill him.

In a statement to media the representatives of Andrew Brown Jr’s family made a bold threat to Elizabeth City Law enforcement. They said, “We’re going to destroy this system and we’re going to reimagine what it should be”.
