The LSU Tigers forward led her team to a historic victory in the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, where she scored 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Did Future and Drake try to Hookup with Angel Reese via DMs?
Reese is not only attracting attention from sports fans and media. She is also getting messages from some of the biggest names in the music industry, who want to congratulate her on her success and possibly more. In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Reese revealed that two of the most popular rappers in the world, Drake and Future, slid into her DMs after she won the championship.
Reese said that both Drake and Future sent her “congratulations” messages, but did not disclose any details about what else they said or asked. However, when DJ Envy pressed her on whether Drake invited her to visit his mansion in Toronto, which has a basketball court, Reese laughed nervously and covered her face, implying that he did. Reese also said that other rappers like DJ Khaled, French Montana, and Tony Yayo reached out to her.
Reese’s teammate and rapper Flau’jae Johnson, who was also on the show, said that she was happy for Reese and that she was not surprised by the attention she was getting. She said that Reese was a “star” and that she deserved all the recognition and praise. She also joked that she would be Reese’s “bodyguard” if she ever decided to meet up with Drake or Future.

Reese has not confirmed if she plans to respond or meet with any of the rappers who contacted her, but from a romantic standpoint they don’t seem like her type. During the interview she made it clear she would only date someone who is taller than her. Standing at 6ft 3in she towers over Drake, and is one inch taller than Future. She said that she was focused on her basketball career and her education, as she is majoring in business administration at LSU. She also said that she was grateful for all the support and love she received from her family, friends, coaches, teammates, and fans. Along with basketball, she has dreams of having a broadcasting career.
Reese is widely considered as one of the best prospects for the 2024 WNBA draft. She has been compared to legends like Candace Parker and Lisa Leslie for her versatility, athleticism, and leadership.
